Craig Biegel, DO

Craig A. Biegel, DO is one of the newest members of the team at Long Island Surgical PLLC. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the Macaulay Honors College at CUNY Brooklyn before completing his doctorate at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY. Dr. Biegel also received his Master of Science in neuromuscular medicine. While in medical school, Dr. Biegel taught osteopathic manipulative medicine and anatomy, performed clinical and translational research, and presented at multiple conferences. He later completed his general surgery residency at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, NY. Dr. Biegel continues to publish papers and is an active member of the American College of Surgeons as well as The Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. 

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, and sketching. Medical illustration has helped him appreciate form and function. It has also given him an opportunity to teach through visual means. The connection between art and medicine continues to inspire his professional journey, and it is something he enjoys sharing with others. Dr. Biegel currently lives on Long Island with his wife, Elizabeth.
