Kenny Der-Kang Lee, MD

Kenny Der-Kang Lee, M.D. is a graduate of Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California, in Los Angeles, from where he graduated Cum Laude as a recipient of the 2010 UCLA Dean’s List and the 2010 Scholarship Recognition Award.  Dr. Lee trained at the Kaweah Delta Health Care District as an intern of General Surgery and later as a resident of General Surgery.  In August of 2021, Dr. Lee became a Surgical Critical Care Fellow at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he continues to further his knowledge in Surgical Critical Care to develop advanced proficiency in the care of critically ill patients and to develop qualifications to supervise surgical care units.  

During his residency in California, Dr. Lee served as a research assistant, presenter and teacher for nearly a dozen publications with respect to the strength and physics of spinal repair, pre-surgical symptoms and surgical efficacy, and functional genomic research on drosophila, among others.  His teaching experience includes lectures associated with Ventilator Associated Pneumonia, Airway Protection, Shock and Management, Gastroesophageal Reflux and Hiatal Hernia, and a trauma workup for medical students.

Currently, Dr. Lee holds certifications to practice General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, Advanced Trauma Life Support, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support with medical licenses in New York, New Jersey, and California.  He is fluent in Mandarin and conversational Medical Spanish, broadening and enhancing his quality of patient care.  

His dedication to his patients parallels his love and admiration for his young family. As a new father, Dr. Lee celebrates the recent birth of his first son, with whom he enjoys spending time, reading to him, and playing peek-a-boo.
