Kevin Louie, DO

Kevin Louie MD is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and the Chief Resident of General Surgery at Saint Barnabas Health System in the Bronx.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Pennsylvania State University and his Doctoral degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine where he also served as Student Ambassador for the Admissions Office.  The quality of his leadership, academic progress, and support of alumni whilst enrolled in medical school, awarded him the Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine Alumni Association Student Scholarship.  This strong work ethic, exhibited throughout his academic career, persists in both his interactions with patients and colleagues as well as in his continued research-related endeavors in the area of Osteopathic Medicine.  

Dr. Louie began his training by earning his board certification as a Pharmacy Technician and Emergency Medical Technician from the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services in 2015.  By 2017, he earned his certifications from the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, Complex Level I, II, and III and from the National Board of Medical Examiners, USMLE Step I and II.  Always seeking new learning platforms and opportunities, Dr. Louie has acquired an extensive list of experiences through voluntary work.  Between 2013 and 2016, he served as a volunteer assistant to the physician at the Henry J. Austin Health Center in Trenton, NJ; an EMT-B Volunteer for the Hightstown First Aid Squad, in Hightstown, NJ; and as a Student Doctor for The Community Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Clinic in Stratford, NJ.  His research has been published in the Cureus Journal of Medical Science as well as in Case Rep Women’s Health 2018 issue regarding previously asymptomatic ruptured tubal ectopic pregnancies.

Most recently, Dr. Louie has become an affiliated member of the American College of Surgery, The American College of Osteopathic Surgeon and the American Osteopathic Association. He is dedicated to providing the highest quality care to his patients and takes a patient-centered approach to treatment.

In his free time, Dr. Louie enjoys tennis and golf, cooking, and building computers. He is fluent in English and conversational in both Cantonese and Spanish, further promoting his ability to provide the highest standard of care to his patients.
