Omar Wain, DO FACOS FACS

Dr. Omar Wain is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and General Surgery at Long Island Surgical, PLLC.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in 2005, from which he graduated with honors and distinction.  In June of 2007, Dr. Wain received a Masters in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and in 2011, he earned his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York.  Dr. Wain’s prolific list of experience includes two Traditional Rotating Internships in Osteopathic Medicine, residency in General Surgery at Flushing Hospital Medical Center, and a Fellowship in General Cosmetic Surgery at New Look New Life Cosmetic Surgical Arts in New York, and Miami, Florida.  In December of 2018, Dr. Wain joined the private practice at Long Island Surgical.

In 2016, Dr. Wain joined the GC Rivera Foundation, an organization dedicated solely to selfless service, providing medical and alternative medicine healthcare to underprivileged individuals and special needs children within and outside of the U.S.  As a loving husband and proud father to three beautiful children, residing in Queens, New York, Wain’s devotion to medicine affects every aspect of his life, and he prides himself on sharing this vision with his family so that they too can not only benefit from the knowledge and understanding of the world in which they live, but so they too can be part of its progression and revolution.

An expert in the field of robotics, Dr. Wain is committed to learning and implementing cutting edge technology to best serve his patients on their journeys – whether they be life-long or temporary. The knowledge of his patients’ well being and their health is essential to Dr. Wain’s ability to treat accordingly; providing his personal cell-phone number is his way of ensuring that each patient is accommodated and comforted by his devotion to their care.

In addition to being published in The Journal of Neuroscience and The Skeptical Inquirer, Dr. Wain completed an extensive list of research incentives between 2004 and 2018 and has received awards for notable poster presentations, including first place overall in the national competition for the Clinical Assembly of Osteopathic Surgeons in 2014.  His professional and academic affiliations include  membership with the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and the Medical Society of New York.  Furthermore, Dr. Wain is the recipient of the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation SAVE Award and the Guest Lecturer Appreciation Award from a lecture series in Bariatric and Robotic Surgery.

Dr. Wain holds licenses to practice medicine in the states of New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Florida, and he is Board Certified by the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.
